Dr.Bobby Dunn Obituary (1952 - 2017)

Van Hoose & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Services announce the passing of Dr. Bobby James Dunn, of Montgomery and formerly of Northport, AL. Dr. Bobby J. Dunn Obituary Dr. Bobby J. Dunn passed from this life on April 27, 2017. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family, caregivers and devoted staff during the last days of his life. Bobby was born in Northport, AL on July 15, 1952. An ordained minister known for his clinical work and community service throughout Alabama, he earned his Bachelors degree from Alabama State University and his PhD in Social Work from University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. Dr. Dunn ran a successful mental health private practice, Clinical Enterprises PLLC, where he changed the lives of many patients over his 30+ year career. He was known as an outstanding mentor to young people, many of whom went on to be successful professionals. Dr. Dunn was a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity. He was listed as an Honored Professional in the National Register's Who's Who in Executives and Professionals and served as pastor at People's Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL. He is survived by two brothers: Mr. Herbert L. Dunn, Mr. Richard Dunn Jr., both of Northport, AL. and two sister, Mrs. Jessie Moten Dunn and Mrs. JoAnn Little Dunn. He leaves behind loving godmother Mrs. Ellen Rudolph, loving and caring son Dr. David L. Mount; devoted nephew Marcus Williams and beloved nieces Pamela (Jerome) Dunn Bowers, Quyanetta Dunn Williams, and Gayla Prewitt Dunn; beloved grandson David Gideon Mount, beloved great niece Moriah Williams and numerous other great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Susie Wells Dunn, his father Richard Dunn, Sr. and three siblings, infant Lillie Mae Dunn, Mr. Willie "Tampa" Dunn, and Mr. Charlie Dunn. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at True Divine Baptist Church, located at 4525 Virginia Loop Road Montgomery, AL 36116. Sr. Pastor Rickey Bowe of New Beginning Holiness Church will officiate. Viewing will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon followed by service at Noon. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Dr. Bobby Dunn Foundation.
