Dr. Henri Pate Obituary (1959

The Historical Van Hoose & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Services announce the death of Dr. Henri Pate. Dr. Pate returned to her creator on Saturday, May 9, in Hampton, Virginia. In 1959 Henri received her B.S. in Institutional Management from Tuskegee University (formally Tuskegee Institute). In 1963 she furthered her education at Hunter College in New York. During her brief 3 year study in New York, Henri received a certification from the American Dietetics Association in General Dietetics from Bellevue Hospital Center. In 1973 she received her M.S. from Tuskegee University. Henri earned her Ph.D in Higher Education Administration and Supervision in 1982 from the University of Alabama. She was employed for many years at Hampton University from 1983-2000 as the Chairman of Human Ecology. After taking a brief leave to take care of her mother she relocated to Durham, NC where she taught at North Carolina Central University from 2001-2004 & 2008 - 2009.
