Van Hoose & Steele Funeral Home announce the passing of Mr. Lewis C. Lowe, Sr., age 89, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away February 27, 2019, at DCH Regional Medical Center. SERVICES will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 8, 2019, at Maranatha Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church with Pastor Roscoe Shields officiating and eulogy by Rev. Dr. Joseph Grider. Burial will follow at Cedar Oak Memorial Park with military honors. Van Hoose & Steele Funeral Home will be directing. VISITATION will be held Thursday March 7, 2019, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Wayne Lowe; parents, Leslie and Phennie Lowe; siblings, Leslie Lowe, Jr., Johnny Lowe, Charles Lowe, James Lowe and Annie Ruth Lowe. Survivors include two sons, Lewis C. Lowe, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Derrick A. Lowe (Camillia) of Atlanta, Georgia; a daughter, Martha Johnson of Detroit, Michigan; a granddaughter, Tonya Lowe of Detroit, Michigan; a grandson, Blake A. Lowe of Atlanta, Georgia; a great-grandson, Jamar Lowe of Detroit, Michigan; four sisters, Dorothy Gay of Northport, Alabama, Catherine Lowe of Mansfield, Ohio, Mary Foster of Jacksonville, Florida and Joyce Lowe Steward (Terry) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearer is Mr. Willie Barnes.
