Tuscaloosa Ms. Bernice Hudson Washington, age 84 of Tuscaloosa passed Sunday at the home of her daughter. Funeral services for Ms. Bernice Hudson Washington, will be held on Monday, April 14th at 12 noon. at the Bailey Tabernacle CME Church. Rev. W.C. Jones, officiating. Burial will follow in West Highland Memorial Garden. Viewing Hours: Sunday at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. 6:00 p.m. and the remains of Ms. Washington, will lie in reposed at the church two hours prior to funeral time. Funeral services entrusted to and under the direction of the caring professional staff of the historical Van Hoose and Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Mrs. Washington, was one of the foot soldier in the Civil Right Movements, director of the Bernice Washington Insight Center, Drug Rehabilitation Program, a lead singer in the Bailey Tabernacle Church Choir, and a member of the Tuscaloosa City School System Grand parenting Program and a friend to many.
